Manual GPRS settings for all Indian Mobile Service providers

There are situations which demands manual GPRS settings to be done in the mobile phones as sometime settings are not delivered instantly to the user, also sometimes user mobile doesn’t support the automatic settings and now days mobile operator starts charging for the conversation, so I decided to provide all the details necessary to install manual settings in mobile as well as in PC/Laptop.

For Connecting your mobile to PC/Laptop you need : -
·
      1.  Dial up Number like - *99***1# or *99#
·        2.  Extra-initialization command(sometimes needed)- AT+CGDCONT=1, “xyz”,…..
·         3. .Proper setting selection in mobile (like mobile office, pocket internet etc.)
·         4.  Access Point Name (APN) (sometimes needed in case you are using pc suite)

To know the procedure to use your phone as a modem refer to my previous post. I also observed that some times irrespective of right settings  in mobile we are unable to access the GPRS, in that kind of situation request your operator to send  the required settings. You can also use the SMS service  of operator for that as

Airtel :-   sms  MO to 543210
Aircel:-   sms PI and to 121
Docomo:-  sms INTERNET to 52270
Reliance GSM :-  sms“ALL” to 55100
BSNL :- sms GPRS to 53733
Uninor- sms ALL to 58355

Note :- when you connecting your mobile to pc/laptop  there is no need of proxy settings and only APN is sufficient,  for example :-

    2. Dear u can use USSD code to check for data balance but for that there must be some provision for USSD in the supporting software of data card....I am not aware of MTS data card ...but it is much better if you update your Dialing software b'coz nowdays all data-cards comes with USSD facility.
